Presets are ‘filters’ available for Adobe Lightroom. It's a great way to create quick and effective edits, and you don't need any editing skills to use them. Please note that desktop presets will work only on the desktop version of Lightroom, and mobile presets will work only on the free Lightroom mobile app.
Mobile presets are designed for the free mobile app called "Lightroom CC" - it doesn’t require subscription and it’s totally free to use.
Desktop presets are designed for a desktop software Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC and will not work on your phone. To use the desktop preset you will need to pay a monthly subscription to Adobe of $15 a month.
If you want complete control when editing photos then desktop presets are great and more powerful, however mobile presets are more handy when traveling, if you prefer to edit quickly on your phone.

HOW TO INSTALL LIGHTROOM 4, 5, 6 & CC PRESETS FOR MAC (DESKTOP)
- Open Lightroom
- Go to: Lightroom (Dialogue) • Preferences • Presets
- Click on the box titled: Show Lightroom Presets Folder
- Double click on Lightroom
- Double click on Develop Presets
- Copy the folder(s) of your presets into Develop Presets folder
- Restart Lightroom
